WE HAVE QUESTIONS - BACK TO INDEX

We Have Questions

We Have Questions was a two-day gathering of 18 arts practitioners exploring issues around socially engaged practice in rural settings, including risk aversion, queerness, climate relevance and tensions between communities of place and of practice.

It grew from discussions between Cat Meighan and I about what an appropriate way of marking the end of our residencies with the Highland Culture Collective might be. Rather than attempting to share anything we might call learning, or new expertise, we both felt acutely aware that we had more questions than ever before. As our final act under the Culture Collective banner, we, along with our project manager Lauren Hendry, put a call out to other practitioners who also had questions. We hoped that their questions might hang out with our questions, make friends and play together - and they did!

In the end, 18 of us gathered at the Cromarty Arts Trust with a dedicated, and paid, day and a half to make this happen. We were:

Katharine Barrington, Gil Broughton-Stuart, Frances Davis, Hayley Earlam, Maya Rose Edwards, Ben Frimet, Sinéad Hargan, Lauren Hendry, Matt Hickman, Jan McCormack, Jack MacGregor, Hector MacInnes, Malcolm MacKenzie, Cat Meighan, Cara Murray, Renuka Ramanujam, Chris Roberts.
